Los Angeles Lakers youngster Xavier Henry has praised his team's effort as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-103 on the opening night of the NBA season.
Henry was one of a group of young players who impressed for a reserve Lakers side, who were without the services of superstar Kobe Bryant.
"We're a deep team, and people don't think we're that good," Henry said to reporters after the game at the Staples Center.
"That always fuels us. People are saying we're going to finish 12th or whatever, but we have a great group of guys who go out there and play hard. We're young. We're athletic. We get after it."
The Lakers pulled off the famous victory after their bench produced an outstanding points total of 76 in order to lead Mike D'Antoni's men to an unlikely 13-point win.
