Golden State Warriors rookie Kevon Looney could miss up to six months after undergoing surgery on a hip injury.

Golden State Warriors rookie Kevon Looney has been ruled out for up to six months with a hip injury.

The 19-year-old sustained a torn labrum and was forced to undergo an operation to repair the damage on Thursday.

Looney's surgery will force him out of action for at least four months, which will cut into his potential playing time in the 2015-16 season.

The forward was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of UCLA.
