Dallas Mavericks announce JaVale McGee signing

The Dallas Mavericks have announced that they have signed centre JaVale McGee.

The 27-year-old joined the NBA in 2008 with the Washington Wizards and has since played for the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Mavericks become McGee's fourth team and ESPN claims that he has signed a two-year deal.

McGee averages 8.4 points per game, but this has fallen since his time with the Wizards when he was averaging 11.9.

He could make his debut against the Phoenix Suns in week one of the new season in October.
