Dion Waiters denies trade request

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters denies that he is looking to be traded to another team in the NBA.

Dion Waiters has denied reports that he has asked to be traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The guard has been the subject of trade rumours for several weeks, having been linked with moves to the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers.

The 22-year-old told ESPN: "Why would I do that? It doesn't make sense. This is the team that drafted me. People come up with their own things, man.

"I know what I said and what I didn't say. That's one of the things I absolutely never said. As long as we're winning, nothing else matters."

Waiters has averaged 14.9 points per game this season.
