Charles Barkley: 'Matthew Dellavedova did not shut down Stephen Curry'

Charles Barkley slams suggestions that league MVP Stephen Curry was shut down in game two of the NBA Finals by Matthew Dellavedova.

Charles Barkley has branded suggestions that Matthew Dellavedova shut down Stephen Curry in game two of the NBA Finals "ridiculous".

The league MVP scored just 19 points and made only five of his 23 attempts at the net as Dellavedova appeared to slow him down at the Oracle Arena to guide the Cleveland Cavaliers to victory.

However, the 11-time NBA All-Star is adamant that the Golden State Warriors point guard will get the better of the Australian over the course of the series because of his quality.

"I think people need to slow down giving him so much credit because Steph Curry will kill that kid in the overall scheme of things," Barkley told Sirius XM's Bleacher Report Radio.

"He just didn't make shots and I think that everybody needs to slow their roll. Steph Curry just missed some shots. This notion that he stopped him is just ridiculous."

Game three of the finals takes place in Cleveland later today.
