England's Jo Pavey wins bronze in 5000m final

Team England's Jo Pavey, 40, wins bronze in the 5000m at the Commonwealth Games with a time of 15:08.96, while Kenya's Mercy Cherono secures the gold medal.

England's Jo Pavey has secured a bronze medal in the women's 5000m final at the Commonwealth Games.

Kenya's Mercy Cherono won the gold medal as she showed great pace on the last lap to pull away from the pack to secure the title in a time of 15:07.21.

Janet Kisa made it a gold-silver double for Kenya as the 21-year-old just managed to beat out Pavey with a late burst, while the 40-year-old was left to claim bronze for Team England with a time of 15:08.96.

Scotland's Laura Whittle placed in sixth, while England's Emelia Gorecka and Helen Clitheroe finished in eighth and 11th respectively.
