Barbara Spotakova defends Olympic javelin title

Czech Republic's Barbara Spotakova has defended her Olympic javelin title by throwing a season's best in the Olympic Stadium this evening.

The 31-year-old threw consistently around the 66m mark with her first three attempts before summoning a 69.55m launch on the fourth.

Germany filled the other places on the podium, with Christina Obergfoll clinching silver with 65.16m ahead of Linda Stahl, who threw a season-best 64.91m.
