The St Louis Rams have picked up the fifth-year option on the contract of defensive end Robert Quinn.

The 23-year-old had an excellent season for the Rams in the 2013 campaign as he notched 19 sacks, which ranked him second overall in the NFL.

St Louis have now added an extra year to his original four-year deal, which leaves him under contract until the end of the 2015 season with the final year now worth $6.9m (£4.1m).

Quinn was selected 14th overall in the 2011 Draft by the Rams.
