Report: Paul Richardson ruled out for season

A report suggests that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Paul Richardson tore his ACL in his side's win over the Carolina Panthers, which will rule him out for the season.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Paul Richardson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL, according to a report.

The rookie sustained the injury in the third quarter of his side's divisional-round playoff win over the Carolina Panthers as he attempted to catch a deep pass down the middle of the field.

Richardson walked off the field, but tests after the match confirmed that he had torn the ligament in his knee which will force him out of the NFC championship game and the Super Bowl should the Seahawks reach the title game, reports NFL Network.

The 22-year-old recorded 29 receptions for 271 yards and a touchdown for the Seahawks in his first season in the NFL.
