NFL roundup: Seattle Seahawks sign off pre-season with defeat

The Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks signed off their pre-season campaign with a 43-31 defeat to the Oakland Raiders.

Rookie quarterback Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes to guide Dennis Allen's side to the victory.

The Denver Broncos secured a win over the Dallas Cowboys to finish their campaign with a 3-1 record at AT&T Stadium.

Backup quarterback Brock Osweiler led his side to four scoring drives as running backs CJ Anderson and Kapri Bibbs scored three touchdowns between them to post a convincing 27-3 victory.

The San Francisco 49ers finished their pre-season on a high note as they defeated the Houston Texans 40-13 at NRG Stadium.

Quarterback Josh Johnson threw three touchdown strikes while linebacker Chris Borland also returned an interception for a score to guide Jim Harbaugh's side to victory.

The New England Patriots ended their campaign with a 2-2 record as they slipped to a narrow defeat to the New York Giants.

Jimmy Garoppolo found Aaron Dobson for a second-quarter touchdown, but the Giants battled back with a score from Peyton Hillis and three field goals from Josh Brown to claim the win.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Falcons put in a good performance to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-14 at Everbank Field, while the Detroit Lions shut out the Buffalo Bills with a commanding 23-0 victory.

The Indianapolis Colts ended their pre-season with a fourth straight loss as they fell to a 35-7 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Green Bay Packers signed off with a 35-14 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Miami Dolphins edged out the St Louis Rams in a 14-13 victory at SunLife Stadium, while the Philadelphia Eagles cruised to a 37-7 win over the New York Jets.

The Carolina Panthers shut out the Pittsburgh Steelers to secure the second win of their campaign, and the Washington Redskins beat out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 24-10 victory.

The Baltimore Ravens edged out the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome with a 22-13 triumph, while the Cleveland Browns ended strongly with a 33-13 win over the Chicago Bears.

The Tennessee Titans could only muster three points in their 19-3 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings, and the San Diego Chargers earned a narrow win over the Arizona Cardinals with a 12-9 victory.
