Chris Matthews: 'Seattle Seahawks can be number one offense'

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews insists that he and his offensive teammates are more than capable of being the NFL's best offense in the 2015 season.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Chris Matthews has claimed that his side's offense has the ability to be the best in the NFL next season.

The Seahawks had the best rushing attack in the league last season, but ranked 27th in their passing offense to leave themselves ranked ninth overall.

Matthews is determined to help the NFC West side become the best offense after he came out of nowhere to stake a claim to be Super Bowl MVP with four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in his team's loss to the New England Patriots.

"My expectation is to compete and play as hard as I can and give a great effort for the team and help us win," Matthews told ESPN.

"My expectation is for us to win. Our defense is number one is the league. I believe wholeheartedly that the offense can be number one in the NFL. We just have to work really hard. We have all the key parts.

"Last year was a lot of ups and downs for me. I was just trying to figure out what was best for me. How can I fit in? The biggest thing was when I understood practice means a lot here. You practice hard, you play hard, is what a lot of people say here. I picked that up and embraced it."

Matthews also made the crucial play on the onside kick in the NFC championship game against the Green Bay Packers to send the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.
