Justin Smith is not worried about playing with a partially torn triceps against the Atlanta Falcons this weekend.

Justin Smith has said that his partially torn triceps will not be a concern in the NFC Championship game this weekend.

The San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman missed the last two matches of the regular season with the injury, but has vowed to participate in the playoffs before undergoing surgery in the off-season.

The 33-year-old told CSN Bay Area: "It's like anything, if it's half-torn or whatever, it could tear the rest of the way.

"I'm not really concerned about it. Just going to go out there and do the best I can and see what happens.

"I think there's still a comfort level of getting used to it. Just mentally going out there and coming out of the game and knowing how it feels and felt during the game. I'll be a lot more comfortable this week."

Smith wore a brace on his arm in the 49ers' win over the Green Bay Packers last weekend.

The 49ers face the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.
