Trent Baalke apologises for daughter's tweet

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke apologises to offensive coordinator Greg Roman for comments made by his daughter on Twitter.

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has apologised to his side's offensive coordinator Greg Roman following remarks made by his daughter on Twitter.

Baalke's daughter Cassie tweeted: "Greg Roman can take a hike. The 49ers don't want you no more," following San Francisco's 19-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, in a game where their offense struggled badly.

Baalke immediately issued an apology to the offensive coordinator for the comments, and has insisted that he will use the incident as a learning curve for his daughter.

He said in a statement: "My daughter and I both regret that her feelings got the best of her after last night's game and that she chose social media as an avenue to express her feelings.

"We have apologised to Greg for this unfortunate matter. While disappointed, as a father I will use this as a teachable moment to help my daughter grow."

The 49ers have a 7-5 record in their season following their defeat to the Seahawks.
