Jim Tomsula pleased with NaVorro Bowman progress

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula admits that he is delighted with what he has seen from NaVorro Bowman in his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula has admitted that he is extremely pleased with the progress that linebacker NaVorro Bowman is making in his transition back to the field.

The 26-year-old did not play in the 2014 season after he sustained a devastating knee injury in the 2013 NFC championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.

However, the All-Pro is making great strides in his recovery and is on schedule to return for the 2015 season.

"Bowman's looking great," Tomsula told reporters. "Bow looks great. I'd say we're more treating Bow like a vet than we're treating Bow like a post-injury guy right now."

The 49ers lost linebackers Patrick Willis and Chris Borland in the off-season as both players made the decision to retire from the NFL.
