Melvin Ingram "blessed" to be in playoff position

San Diego Chargers linebacker Melvin Ingram says that his team can't afford to dwell on their win over the Cincinnati Bengals for too long.

San Diego Chargers linebacker Melvin Ingram has insisted that his team are focused on beating the Denver Broncos, rather than looking back at what they achieved in beating the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday.

Ingram made an interception during the surprise win, in what was the first Bengals home loss of the campaign.

However, the 24-year-old has said that the victory is in the past, and that the focus must now be on beating the number one seed from the AFC this weekend.

In his blog on Chargers.com, Ingram said: "Beating the Bengals and now getting to play the Broncos, these playoffs are a blessing. This is a great opportunity to be in this position. We're just trying to make the most of it.

"Another blessing was being able to make an interception last week. It's all just hard work, studying film and playing assignment football and that is what has us in this situation.

"But as great as winning on Sunday was, we turned our attention to the Broncos very quickly. It's a big game coming up and it's win or go home, so you can't afford to stay on the first game too long."

Ingram has missed the majority of the season with an ACL injury that he sustained in pre-season, only returning early last month.
