San Diego Chargers cut 11 including Max Starks

The San Diego Chargers cut veteran left tackle Max Starks, along with 10 other players as they aim to reach the NFL's 53-man roster requirement.

The San Diego Chargers have released 11 players from their roster, including veteran left tackle Max Starks.

The 31-year-old signed for Mike McCoy's side in the off-season after nine years with the Pittsburgh Steelers but was deemed surplus to requirements following a series of poor performances in pre-season.

San Diego also cut Cornelius Brown, Sean Cattouse, Phillip Dillard, Greg Gatson, Jerrell Harris, William Middleton, Daniel Molls, Randy Richards, Steve Schilling and Luke Tasker.

The Chargers' roster currently stands at 64 players, so they need to make 11 further cuts to meet the NFL's requirement of 53 by tomorrow's deadline.
