Pittsburgh Steelers' Kevin Colbert blasts use of media ahead of the NFL Draft

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert reveals that he does not like the use of the media by some teams ahead of the NFL Draft to try to influence decisions.

Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert feels that the use of the media in the NFL Draft to influence the selection process is "horrible".

Reports about prospects are often leaked to the media ahead of the Draft, which have been known to alter teams' decisions.

Colbert believes that the use of the media is bad for the NFL and shows a lack of respect for the prospects in one of the biggest moments of their career.

He told reporters: "I think it's horrible. I think it's really bad for our profession when people use whatever means they use to get information out to try to influence the Draft and they talk about a kid's test score, a kid's injury, a kid's character.

"I think that's awful. It's disrespectful to our profession, it's disrespectful to the game, it's disrespectful to the kid."

The Steelers hold the 22nd selection in the first round of the 2015 Draft.
