Pittsburgh Steelers place Maurkice Pouncey on injured reserve return list

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey on injured reserve designated to return.

The 26-year-old sustained a broken fibula in his side's pre-season clash against the Green Bay Packers two weeks ago and the club feared he could be lost for the 2015 season.

However, after being evaluated by the Steelers' medical staff it was deemed that Pouncey could return later in the campaign and as a result they have placed him on their IR-return list.

Pouncey will not be able to return to the field until after week eight of the season.
