Philadelphia Eagles' Lane Johnson: "I want to be elite"

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson is determined to become one of the elite players at his position in the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson has outlined his desire to become an elite player at his position in the NFL.

The NFC East side selected Johnson with the fourth overall pick in the 2013 Draft, but he had an underwhelming rookie season for Chip Kelly's men.

The 25-year-old was suspended for the first four games of the 2014 campaign after violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, but on his return to the team he found his form and a solid end to the season.

"I want to be elite at my position in the NFL, and I felt that this would help me get there," Johnson told the club's official website. "I have a lot of confidence about what's ahead of me.

"I think I'm getting close to being elite. Last year was a big stepping stone from my rookie year and I just have to be more aggressive and more violent going into year three."

Lane has played 28 games for the Eagles in his two years in the league.
