Tebow disappointed not to start

Tim Tebow has said that he is disappointed not to be promoted to starting quarterback for the New York Jets.

The Jets have benched regular starter Mark Sanchez following struggles against the Tennessee Titans on Monday, opting to put Greg McElroy in at quarterback this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.

The former Denver Broncos starter told Newsday: "I think it's fair to say I'm a little disappointed in the decision. I'll just wait until after the season to look at things like [staying at the Jets in 2013]."

Head coach Rex Ryan has also said that he will wait until after the current NFL season to decide if Tebow has a future at the Jets.

Monday's loss to the Titans means that the Jets cannot make the postseason playoffs.
