Jeff Cumberland agrees new deal with New York Jets

The New York Jets announce that they have agreed a new three-year deal with tight end Jeff Cumberland to keep him at the club until the 2017 season.

The New York Jets have announced that tight end Jeff Cumberland has re-signed with the club ahead of free agency.

The 26-year-old was due to hit the free-agent market next week, but the club have chosen to tie him down to a new deal after a good year in the 2013 campaign.

Cumberland will sign a three-year contract with the Jets worth a reported $3.7m (£2.2m) to stay with the club until the 2017 season.

The tight end had 26 receptions for 398 yards along with four touchdowns last season.
