Jace Amaro: 'Todd Bowles will hold us to higher standards'

New York Jets tight end Jace Amaro admits that he and his teammates will be held to higher standard regarding timekeeping under new head coach Todd Bowles.

New York Jets tight end Jace Amaro has suggested that new head coach Todd Bowles will hold them to higher standards regarding timekeeping than Rex Ryan.

Ryan was fired at the end of the 2014 season as the club posted a 4-12 record and missed the playoffs for the fourth campaign in a row.

The AFC East outfit hired Bowles following a successful spell as defensive coordinator of the Arizona Cardinals, and Amaro feels that his new coach will bring a new-found discipline to the club.

"[Bowles] came in telling us that he expects to win," Amaro told Sirius XM NFL Radio. "He's not really playing around with everybody being late.

"We had an issue with that last year. I think guys just weren't accountable last year as much they could be. And I think that's the biggest thing."

Amaro recorded 38 receptions for 345 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season in the NFL.
