Report: Coughlin to keep staff in place

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin will reportedly keep defensive co-ordinator Perry Fewell and special teams co-ordinator Tom Quinn in place for next season.

While Coughlin has not stated anything publicly regarding the coaching positions, the decision is said to have been reached a week after the Giants saw their season ended, according to Newsday.

Fewell in particular had come under criticism after leading a defense that was ranked 29th in yards and 22nd in points allowed in 2014.

However, the Giants coach argued that the team did enjoy success on third-downs, in sacks and takeaways while working with a secondary unit decimated by injuries.

Meanwhile, Quinn's special teams units have also struggled the past two seasons with erratic play but Coughlin looks set to keep faith in his staff.
