New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning reassures fans that he will stick to football after appearing in a spoof rap video.

New York Giants full-back Eli Manning has jokingly reassured fans that he has no plans to quit football after starring in an advert that shows him rapping.

Manning appears in the Direct TV commercial alongside elder brother and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning singing a song called 'Football On Your Phone'.

Eli joked that the song would probably be a one-hit wonder and revealed that his teammates have unknowingly found themselves humming the "catchy" tune.

"I think I will stay with my day job and keep playing football for long as possible. A one and done. A one-hit wonder probably," said the younger Manning brother.

"[Peyton and I] obviously got a lot of laughs together just every time we would kind of look at each other and wonder what we were doing. [We wore] a lot of makeup and just kept it on for four or five hours during the commercial and then take it off and back to normal life and try not to think about it.

"It's just been funny. I guess the song is a little catchy. [There's been] a few guys going to the cafeteria line and they don't even know I am behind them and they are humming the song or the words. I say, 'I think it's got you,'. That song gets stuck in your head all day. They are kind of just going around singing the song every once in a while."

The New York Giants will begin their new NFL season against the Dallas Cowboys on September 8.
