Moss defends Brady amid deflategate scandal

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss has defended Tom Brady amid criticism of the quarterback over the deflategate scandal.

The 37-year-old was banned for four matches for being generally aware that members of the Patriots' equipment staff had deflated footballs in their AFC championship win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Brady appealed his suspension and is currently waiting to hear the result from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. However, Moss is adamant that the quarterback is the ultimate professional and would never do anything to put his integrity in question.

"I've always stood in Tom's corner," Moss told reporters. "I called myself a professional, but that man was definitely a letter grade above me."

On deflategate, he added: "Over some air? If he did it, so what? He hasn't shown me anything but how he carries himself as a professional man, husband, father and athlete. Tom Brady is a pro's pro. I love the man and everything he's accomplished."

Moss played with Brady for four seasons from 2007 to 2010.
