New England Patriots' LeGarrette Blount backs Jimmy Garoppolo to hold his own

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount believes that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo will hold his own in the NFL if he is pressed into action in the 2015 season.

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount has revealed that he is confident quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo can hold his own in the NFL.

The 24-year-old is in line to start for the defending Super Bowl champions in the first four matches of the 2015 campaign due to Tom Brady's suspension for the deflategate scandal.

Blount believes that Garoppolo will produce for the club when he is called upon after learning under Brady and the club's coaching staff for 14 months.

"I feel like Jimmy can hold his own," Blount told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "I feel like he can go in there and hold his own. He's playing up under the greatest quarterback, man, you can't do nothing but learn from him.

"I like Jimmy a lot, and I think he takes his job very seriously and he also has fun with it. I feel like if he goes in there, he's going to be productive and I think he's going to be good.

"I don't think he's going to go out there and do anything crazy. I think he's going to go out there and do exactly what they tell him to do."

Garoppolo was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2014 Draft.
