Minnesota Vikings confirms Christian Ponder will start

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will start against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

The Minnesota Vikings have confirmed that Christian Ponder will continue as their starting quarterback this week.

The NFC North side have used three different starters so far this season, with Matt Cassel and Josh Freeman also seeing playing time.

Head coach Leslie Frazier told reporters: "I have not talked to the guys about the backup situation yet, we're going to go through that when we're done, but Christian is going to start.

"Just felt like, what I said earlier, trying to pick the guy you feel like would give you the best chance to be successful on Sunday, and we think that's Christian.

"I'm hoping he has a great game on Sunday that can lead us to victory and you move on from there. It's just like the rest of our season, just one game at a time for us right now."

The Vikings face the Dallas Cowboys tomorrow.
