Jacksonville Jaguars comeback stuns New York Giants

The Jacksonville Jaguars overturn an 18-point half-time deficit to take a 25-24 win over the New York Giants.

The Jacksonville Jaguars came from 18 points down at half time to secure a 25-24 win over the New York Giants in the NFL this evening.

The Jaguars defense frustrated the Giants in the first quarter, holding Odell Beckham Jr and Rashad Jennings out of the endzone early on.

The running back found his way in with the first play of the second though, powering over from just two yards out.

The visitors extended their advantage later in the quarter as Preston Parker got into space on the edge to collect a pass from Eli Manning.

Jennings managed to add a second before the break, but Josh Scobee got the home side on the board with a field goal after a Cecil Shorts III score was ruled out for an offensive holding penalty.

A mistake at the start of the third quarter gave the Jaguars their first touchdown as Manning fumbled the ball, while Jennings failed to recover, allowing JT Thomas to leap on it for the score.

Marqise Lee found his way into the endzone before end the of the quarter to continue the Jacksonville fightback as Blake Bortles threw a long pass for the receiver.

Another fumble gave the Jaguars the lead as Aaron Colvin recovered the ball and ran it back, but the hosts failed with their two-point conversion attempt, leaving New York just a point behind.

Josh Brown kicked the Giants back ahead briefly, but a late run from Bortles got the Jaguars back in field goal range, and Scobee restored their one-point advantage.

Manning and the Giants offense came back out, but the quarterback fumbled after he was sacked to give possession back to the hosts, who just needed to take a knee to clinch the win.

The result gives the Jaguars just their second win of the season, but leaves them bottom in the AFC South division, while the Giants slip to 3-9.
