Andre Johnson allowed to seek trade from Houston Texans

The Houston Texans allow veteran wideout Andre Johnson to seek a trade move from the club and are prepared to release him if no deal can be agreed.

The Houston Texans have granted veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson permission to seek a trade away from the club.

The 33-year-old was told by the Texans that his role would be limited in the 2015 season to allow younger players to become more involved in the offense.

However, Johnson baulked at the idea, resulting in the club looking for a trade partner for the All-Pro, but if no deal can be agreed the AFC South side are prepared to release the wideout.

"Thank you Houston for a wonderful 12 years," Johnson wrote on his Instagram page. "And a special thanks to all the fans who have supported me throughout my career."

Johnson joined the Texans in 2003 and is the club's all-time leading receiver as he has recorded 1,012 receptions for 13,597 yards along with 64 touchdowns in his 12 years with the team.
