Houston Texans release safety Chris Clemons

The Houston Texans cut defensive back Chris Clemons after just five months with the club and sign Danieal Manning to replace him on their 53-man roster.

The Houston Texans have released defensive back Chris Clemons ahead of the 2014 season.

Clemons only joined the Texans in the off-season, penning a two-year deal with the club after his contract with the Miami Dolphins wasn't renewed at the end of the 2013 campaign.

However, just a day after the roster cutdown the Texans have decided to part way with the 28-year-old and have reportedly signed safety Danieal Manning to take his place on the team.

The Texans also added quarterback Ryan Mallett on Sunday in a trade deal with the New England Patriots.
