Packers place Hayward, Nixon on IR

The Green Bay Packers have confirmed that they have placed cornerbacks Casey Hayward and James Nixon on their injured reserve list.

Hayward managed to feature in just three games this season and will now be out for the year after sustaining a hamstring injury against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Meanwhile, Nixon has a knee injury he picked up against the New York Giants and, as a result, the team placed him on season-ending IR along with Hayward.

The Packers have used the two open roster spots to activate defensive lineman Jerel Worthy and defensive back Sean Richardson from their physically unable to perform list to their active squad.

Mike McCarthy's team are 5-5 in their season going into week 12.
