Mike McCarthy planning for Matt Flynn start

McCarthy planning for Flynn start

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has revealed that he is planning for Sunday's match against the Pittsburgh Steelers assuming that Matt Flynn will be his starting quarterback.

Flynn has started the last six games for the Packers in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers, who will be evaluated on Wednesday to see whether he will be fit enough to return this weekend.

McCarthy is hopeful that he will have Rodgers back for the match, but at the moment is setting his gameplan up with Flynn in mind.

"We're game-planning right now for Matt Flynn. That's the way we started the conversation Saturday," McCarthy told reporters.

"We do some preliminary game-planning each week for the next opponent, so that's the way we're going about it as an offensive staff."

The Packers are still just about in the NFL playoff race following their comeback victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
