Dez Bryant reaches new five-year deal with Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys reach an agreement with wide receiver Dez Bryant for a new five-year contract thought to be worth in the region of $70m (£44.7m).

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has agreed a new long-term contract with the team.

Bryant and the Cowboys have come to an agreement on a five-year contract ahead of Wednesday's deadline, as several reports in the press suggest that the receiver will stand to earn around $45m (£28.7m) guaranteed as part of a $70m (£44.7m) deal.

The 26-year-old has been in impressive form over the past few years, having notched a record 41 touchdown catches since 2012.

Bryant's news comes on the same day that fellow wideout Demaryius Thomas was able to agree new terms with the Denver Broncos.
