Late Jason Witten touchdown gives Dallas Cowboys victory over New York Giants

A Jason Witten touchdown with just seven seconds remaining gives the Dallas Cowboys a 27-26 victory over the New York Giants in their 2015 NFL season opener.

Veteran quarterback Tony Romo made three touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys snatched a late victory against the New York Giants, winning 27-26 in their 2015 NFL season opener.

The two sides played out a tight opening quarter, as Dan Bailey opened the scoring for the Cowboys with a 21-yard field goal, before Josh Brown responded for the Giants with a 50-yard effort.

The second quarter was equally as tight for the most part, with just a 32-yard field goal from Bailey adding three points for the Cowboys.

With 58 seconds on the clock before half time the Giants scored the game's first six-pointer. Dallas' Cole Beasley fumbled the ball, before Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie intercepted and scored the defensive touchdown.

Brown converted for the extra point, and the New York Giants led 13-6 at the break.

The Giants extended their lead by three points early in the third quarter, as Brown scored a 30-yard field goal.

Dallas responded well though, as Romo launched a pass towards Gavin Escobar for a two-yard touchdown, which was converted by Bailey.

In the final quarter the Giants looked to have taken control of the match, as Rashad Jennings scored the side's second defensive touchdown of the match - more than the solitary defensive touchdown the Giants mustered in the 2014 season.

After Brown added the extra point, the Giants led 23-13, but the Cowboys responded well as Romo found Jason Witten for the side's second touchdown of the match. Bailey converted, and the Giants' lead was cut to three points.

New York seemed to have won the match with 1:34 left to play as Brown succeeded with a 19-yard field goal attempt, but with just seven seconds remaining the Cowboys scored their third touchdown. Once again, Romo found Witten, and Bailey converted to snatch a 27-26 victory.
