Jakar Hamilton hit with four-game ban

Dallas Cowboys defensive back Jakar Hamilton will miss the first four games of the NFL season after being hit with a ban for breaching rules on substances of abuse.

Dallas Cowboys defensive back Jakar Hamilton has been handed a four-game unpaid ban for breaching the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Hamilton, who featured in three games during his rookie year at Dallas, will now have to sit out until week four, but will be eligible for his side's final pre-season fixture against the Denver Broncos.

The Cowboys' second line has been hit by other suspensions during this off-season, as cornerback Orlando Scandrick was suspended for a PED violation earlier this month.

The new NFL season is due to get underway in September.
