Dallas Cowboys confident DeMarco Murray will face Indianapolis Colts

Cowboys confident Murray will play

Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is confident that running back DeMarco Murray will be able to face the Indianapolis Colts following surgery on his hand.

Murray suffered a broken fourth metacarpal bone in his left hand during Dallas' win over the Philadelphia Eagles last week, and he underwent surgery on Monday.

"The biggest question we have to ask ourselves is, is he functional to do his job?" Garrett told reporters. "Can he hold the football? Can he carry it under duress? Can he block? Can he do the things necessary to play the position?

"He's as strong-willed and as determined an individual as I've ever been around, and if anybody has a chance to come back, he does."

If Murray is ruled out of the game against Indianapolis, the Cowboys will likely turn to Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar to make up his minutes.
