Tuel in dark about starting role

Buffalo Bills quarterback Jeff Tuel has insisted that he doesn't know whether he will start Sunday's match against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills are currently without rookie EJ Manuel as he continues his recovery from a sprained MCL, while back-up Thaddeus Lewis has been rated "50-50" for this weekend's match having picked up an injury in last Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Should Lewis not recover in time, either Tuel or Matt Flynn would be given the nod, and the former admitted that he was excited at the prospect despite not knowing if he would be called upon.

"Coach Marrone walked into the room and said 'It could be anybody. We don't know'. We know as much as you do. I had a lot of adrenaline flowing and nerves. I learned a lot about the system and operating it," Tuel told reporters.

"I need to take care of myself. I know we're down in quarterbacks. I have to do whatever I can do to get down."

Tuel replaced Manuel when the rookie was forced off with an injury earlier this season, completing eight of 20 passes for 80 yards with an interception.
