Carson Palmer expected to start despite elbow injury

The Arizona Cardinals have said that they expect Carson Palmer to be ready to play against the St Louis Rams later today.

The quarterback is listed as questionable on the team's injury report with an elbow problem, which he sustained during last week's 24-21 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL.com reports that the 33-year-old will undergo a late fitness check, but the NFC West side are optimistic that he will be able to take his place in the starting lineup.

The Cardinals currently sit third in their division.
