USA team ask to drop Under Armour suits

The USA's speedskating team ask Winter Olympic officials for permission to drop their Under Armour suits, according to reports.

The USA's speedskating team have asked Winter Olympic officials for permission to abandon their Under Armour suits.

The team believes that the suits have contributed to a number of underwhelming results, according to the Wall Street Journal.

An apparent flaw in the suit lets extra air in and creates unwanted drag for the competitors.

Although Under Armour have changed suits for some skaters during the Games, around half of the team's skaters want to revert back to full-body suits they wore last year.

The next speedskating events are scheduled for Saturday.
