Lizzy Yarnold's father Clive has every confidence in his daughter to bring home Team GB's first gold medal of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
The 25-year-old from Maidstone currently leads the women's skeleton ahead of the final on Friday afternoon.
"We're as cool as cucumbers, we're excited and full of anticipation," he told BBC Sport. "She did a blinding run yesterday and she has been so consistent through this season, starting in America in November and she's been excellent.
"She learnt to ski when she was seven and has been used to being on ice since she was a child, she heard about skeleton four or five years ago and has taken to it like a duck to water.
"It has been amazing her passage through, the training and the whole system of British skeleton. What they are doing works so well and we're just hoping for the best result ever this afternoon."
Yarnold would be the 10th British Athlete to win gold at a Winter Olympics and would follow in the footsteps of reigning skeleton champion Amy Williams, who won the title in Vancouver 2010.
