David Murdoch targets Sochi gold for Team GB

David Murdoch says that he is relishing the chance to win gold in the men's curling at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

Great Britain's men's curling skip David Murdoch has said that winning the gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics would be a dream come true for him.

Team GB defeated Sweden 6-5 in the semi-finals on Wednesday to set up a final against Canada in Sochi on Friday.

"It's not reality and I didn't sleep until 5am last night, thinking about all the previous campaigns and never getting there," the 35-year-old told Sky Sports News.

"Now, finally having that medal and, to have an opportunity to get gold, is the stuff of dreams.

"It's why you dedicate your life to the game of curling, why you make all those sacrifices."

Canada defeated Norway in the final at the 2010 Vancouver Games.
