Roger Federer eases into the second round of the Wimbledon Championships following a convincing straight-sets win over Albert Ramos.

Roger Federer has got off to a winning start in his Wimbledon campaign after securing a 6-1 6-1 6-1 victory over Albert Ramos.

The 2009 champion started off brightly on the grass court, proving why he is a six-time winner at SW19, with a host of well-executed forehand shots and returns spraying over the net.

The Swiss pro took an early vital break of serve and cruised through the opening set without any challenge from his Spanish opponent.

The second set mirrored the first with Ramos failing to come up with any answers to Federer's dominance, who found it easy to clinch a two-set lead on the infamous court.

Federer stormed to a three to love lead in the third set but his Spanish opponent eventually began to force a slight fightback and tried to push the former world number one to a break.

The 24-year-old's attempts failed to come off and despite a slight scare for Federer, the Swiss pro managed to comfortably secure a place in the second round.
