Tomas Berdych beats Alexander Zverev in four sets to progress

Tomas Berdych remains on course to face tournament favourite Andy Murray in the semi-finals of Wimbledon after beating Alexander Zverev 6-3 6-4 4-6 6-1.

Tomas Berdych has held off the challenge posed by Alexander Zverev to successfully book a place in the last-16 stage of Wimbledon.

The number 10 seed remains on a collision course to face new tournament favourite Andy Murray in the semi-finals, having taken victory in four sets.

A finalist here in 2010, Berdych was able to successfully hold his serve in the opening two sets to race into a commanding lead as he eventually came out on top 6-3 6-4 4-6 6-1 at SW19.

Zverev did gain some sort of momentum when taking that third set, breaking his opponent in the fourth and 10th games - the former of which proved a real tussle as three break points were squandered.

Berdych comfortably took the final set, however, making light work of the world number 28 to secure a round-four clash with Jiri Vesely or Joao Sousa.
