Comfortable win for Caroline Wozniacki in first round of US Open

Caroline Wozniacki sails into the second round of the US Open with a routine straight-sets win over Jamie Loeb.

Caroline Wozniacki had a fuss-free first round at the US Open as she overcame Jamie Loeb 6-2 6-0 at Flushing Meadows.

Wozniacki showed her strength in the early stages by snatching the first break of the match, while her 20-year-old American opponent failed to muster a break opportunity.

After taking a one-set lead, last year's finalist took full control of the court as she eased to a double break in the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In the end, it was a routine win for the Dane as she finished the second set without dropping a game.
