Rafael Nadal has reached the final of the Rome Masters courtesy of a 7-6 6-0 victory over his fellow Spaniard David Ferrer this evening.
There was nothing to separate the two players during the opening set, meaning that a breaker was required for a winner to be determined.
The lead changed hands on several occasions, before Nadal served out to take a one-set advantage thanks to a 8-6 success.
Having fallen behind Ferrer found it difficult to regain his rhythm in the second set.
As a result, he failed to win a single game as Nadal went on to book his place in tomorrow's final, where he will face either world number one Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer.
