Number six seed Tomas Berdych secured his place in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open with a straight-sets victory over Mischa Zverev.
The 27-year-old was in control from the start of the match and he powered his way to taking the first set 6-2.
Zverev responded in the second, however, but was undone as the Czech forced a break in serve and secured the set 6-4.
Berdych will play Florian Mayer in the third round.
