Gilles Simon gets better of Milos Raonic in Queen's quarters

Gilles Simon comes from a set down to beat Milos Raonic at Queen's Club and reach the last four of the Aegon Championships.

Frenchman Gilles Simon overcame third-seed Milos Raonic in three sets in the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club this afternoon.

Raonic, of Canada, was in imperious serving form in the first set, with Simon unable to open up a break-point opportunity as the higher-ranked player came through 6-4.

It looked as if Raonic would break first in the second, but Simon held on in the fifth game and then broke Raonic for the first time before levelling the match 6-3.

Ten holds of serve were traded in the decider before Simon made the crucial break to go 6-5 in front.

He squandered four match points before finally holding his nerve to win in two hours, 20 minutes and reach the last four in London.

It is Simon's first victory in four attempts against Raonic and he will next face South Africa's Kevin Anderson in the last four after the South African ousted Guillermo Garcia-Lopez earlier today.
