Anne Keothavong eases to Luxembourg semis

Anne Keothavong edges closer to becoming the first British female finalist in a main tour singles event in 21 years.

Britain's Anne Keothavong has reached the semi-finals of the Luxembourg Open after a comfortable 6-3 6-2 victory over fellow qualifier Bibiane Schoofs.

Keothavong, the world number 93, also defeated former French Open champion Ana Ivanovic on Thursday and will now face Monica Niculescu in the semis.

Should the 28-year-old defeat world number 34 Niculescu, she will become the first British female to reach the final of a main tour singles event since Jo Durie in 1990.
