Albert Ramos gave Tomas Berdych an early scare before the gulf in class began to show, leading to a comfortable 7-5 6-4 6-2 6-3 win for the Czech in the first round of the Australian Open.
The first set played out fairly evenly before Berdych took the advantage over Ramos with a 7-5 win.
The Spaniard surprisingly fought back to take the second set 6-4.
However, the Czech - rated as number seven in the world - began to exert his dominance on the game by taking the third set 6-2.
Berdych took the final set 6-3 with ease and progressed into the second round of the Australian Open.
