Stade Francais hammer London Welsh

London Welsh's maiden European campaign concludes with a 39-17 defeat to Stade Francais in Paris.

London Welsh completed their maiden European campaign with a high-scoring defeat at Stade Francais on Saturday evening.

The result saw the French outfit top Pool Five in the Amlin Challenge Cup.

Julien Arias, Pascal Pape and Geoffrey Doumayrou all crossed over in the first half to put hosts 18-3 ahead at the break.

A penalty try early in the second period secured a bonus point for the Paris outfit, before Remi Bonfils and Francis Fainifo touched down to further extend their lead.

Phil Mackenzie replied with a brace of tries for the Exiles, but it was not enough to change his side's fate.
